Our policies
What we ask, in plain words. The same at both shops.
Booking and deposits
Walk-ins don't book and take no deposit. Full-face visits and groups of four or more are booked ahead, on the booking page or by phone at either shop. A group leaves a deposit that holds the chairs and goes toward the service.
Canceling and running late
For a booked visit, please give 24 hours' notice to move or cancel, and a group 48 hours. We hold a booked chair for 10 minutes. After that your visit moves to the next opening, or you can join the line.
If you miss an appointment
If you miss a booked visit without a word, a group's deposit stays with us and your next booking is held with a deposit. A walk-in who leaves the list loses nothing; after two calls we cross the name off.
Children and companions
Children are welcome with a parent or guardian, who stays in the room. We thread brows and the upper lip from age 12. Guests can wait in the front area, and at busy times we ask that only the person being threaded comes to the chair.
Patch tests and allergies
Threading uses cotton thread and nothing on the skin, so there is no patch test. Tell your threader if your skin reacts easily, if you use prescription skin medicine, or if you've had a peel or a wax in the last week, and we'll skip that area. If you notice burning, swelling, hives or blisters afterward, tell us and call your doctor or go to urgent care.
If you're not happy
If a brow isn't what you asked for, tell us within a few days. We'll look at it with you and say what we can do.
Tipping
Tips are welcome and never expected. Leave one at the desk or hand it to your threader, in cash or on a card.
How the line works
Walk-ins give a name at the desk and are seen in order. Booked clients are taken at their time, so the line can pause for a minute while a booked visit starts. The line closes 30 minutes before the shop does, so everyone on the list is done by closing.
Before your visit
Come with skin washed and dry, and no makeup on the area if you can. Let the hair come back to about a quarter inch since the last wax or shave, so the thread can catch it. Skip retinoids and scrubs for a couple of days beforehand.
